Review: It's really a case of good actors out there left in the cold by the directors, which really does not even try to honor them and the intelligence of the audience by giving them something original or interesting. Tony Gilroy has written not only the first three Bourne films but also great Michael Clayton but here, it is clear that he is in a destructive ego trip. Gilroy was more interested in making people look at how smart he as a screenwriter and director rather than actually trying to comfort and stay true to what makes the Bourne films special. Blasting mindset, Gilroy forget that actors need faith and the materials they work with to push the film forward. Gilroy also committed the greatest sin of all, never underestimate the intelligence of your audience. The script by Dan Gilroy and his brother tried to forefront in scientific jargon and clever dialogue but went on so many inconsistencies and thin description that you have to double back twice Gilroy to see if it actually had a hand in the original Bourne trilogy. The characters in the movie just have to get from A to B and none of them with the exception of Rachel Weisz and Jeremy Renner (as you can clearly see both worked over the call of duty to make something of Their paper paper thin) has the same real purpose simultaneously. Poor Edward Norton just there to bark orders and you can clearly see how he failed in his role in a particular scene. Directions are not even very good, with pacing issues and the time is too too long for its own good. Action scenes (some of them in the film) is not good jar and boring to say least. My suggestions Universal, if you should have a sequel, bringing back Rachel Weisz and Jeremy Renner (who both deserve a medal for their efforts in making this lazy, self-indulgent script working) and get rid of Tony Gilroy, who clearly does not respect anyone but himself. You can have a better movie if you do.
